AHC POWERTOOLS is the online trading name of AHC Tool Hire (Alloa Hire Centre Ltd) — a family-run business proudly celebrating 40 years of supplying professional tools, plant equipment, and power tools across Scotland and throughout the UK.
Established in 1986, our founder John MacPherson began hiring and selling tools from a small unit beside his grocery shop in Medwyn Place, Alloa. What started as a simple local service quickly built a strong reputation for reliability, quality equipment, and friendly, knowledgeable customer support.
The business continued to grow when John’s son Barry joined in 1991. In 2003, the company moved to its current location on Alloa Road, Tullibody, allowing for expansion of the hire fleet, showroom, and customer services.
Over the years, AHC Tool Hire has become a trusted supplier across Scotland’s Central Belt, supporting tradespeople, contractors, businesses, and DIY customers with dependable equipment for construction, landscaping, maintenance, and specialist projects.
In 2008, during the early days of the recession, Barry made the strategic decision to diversify the business by launching AHC Powertools — our dedicated UK online store.
Today, AHC Powertools supplies leading global brands including Makita, DeWalt, Paslode, and many more. We provide high-performance tools for construction, engineering, landscaping, and woodworking industries — combining competitive pricing with expert product knowledge and support.
